I’m a trained cook and restaurant, food media, and travel writer with strong opinions about pizza, bagels, and sushi. As the executive editor for The Daily Meal, I conceived and penned annual destination features like Chefs of the Year, created algorithms and methodologies for national rankings like 101 Best Food Trucks, and recruited more than a 100 experts to select a list of the 101 best pizzas in America (2016, 2015, 2014 and 2013).
I also guided a ranking of America’s 101 best restaurants (2015, 2014 and 2013) and with Chefs and Restaurateurs Rate the Critics (2014, 2013, 2012), I mastered the art of pinning chefs against critics with a rating system of my own devising.

Whether they’re as simple as salsa or as involved as meatball sliders, my recipes are tested, reliable and delicious. I’ve shared family recipes and recreated dishes that I’ve fallen in love with in New York City like Del Posto’s 100-layer lasagna, and others from my travels across the country, like the legendary flautas at Chico’s Tacos El Paso. I’ve also focused my passion for healthy living into delicious, tasty recipes for paleo diets, one-pan meals, curry bowls, date nights and brunch bowls for LIVESTRONG. My goal? Deliver on flavor without a high-calorie count.
